Video Converters on AppStore

Bonjour,

after having struggled a lot with "free" tools to transcode/convert some movies (legally !) recorded in .ts format, I've found 2 products which perfectly match my needs :

- iSkySoft Video Converter

- Wondershare Video Converter Ultimate

But there are very suprising issues (I have tested these 2 products with their free trials versions) they look absolutely IDENTICAL (same design, same functionalities, etc ...) :

- the trial versions are : 4.1.0 for iSkySoft and 4.1.1 for Wondershare

- the versions sold on AppStore are : 3.7.0 for iSkySoft and 3.7.1 for Wondershare

- the price difference is important : on AppStore, Wondershare is ~ 65 % more expensive !!!

Questions :

- are these 2 products identical (= coming from the same "source") ?

- is the version number difference (0 for iSkySoft, 1 for Wondershare on the last digit of the version number) meaning something ?

- when can I expect to see the "4.x.x" versions on AppStore ?

thanks a lot for you answer !

So my suspicion that the 2 products are identical looks like "realistic".

I will, as you suggest, read the descriptions more carefully.

Since you indicated Total Video Converter Pro to me, I gave it a quick try and I must say that it was not matching my needs :

- it crashed when I wanted to trim a video

- I could not see directly/easily (which is "transparent" with the 2 products I mentioned) how to :

- select 1 specific audio track (there are 4 different audio tracks for 4 different languages on my files)

- select and include the DVB subtitles I want (3 DVD tracks !)

- trim the file (without crashing :-) )

- merge 2 or more files in 1

(the above is what I call my "needs").

Anyway, thanks a lot for your answer which really helped !

AppGeeker converter (http://www.appgeeker.com) is the best I've heard of or used, it can convert almost any format.

I don't know if it meet you need, but you could give it a try.

Thanks a lot for the answer.

But I finally bought the iSkySoft Video Converter since I was very happy of the tests I made with the free trial.

The price of the AppGeeker converter seems to be pretty similar.

So if, in the future, it happens that the iSkySoft product does work as well as expected, I might give a try to the AppGeeker converter.
